I am very excited about the conference this year. I am sitting in my room looking out at a mountain, the Bay and the Pacific (all at the same time). The committee has done a great job and have worked very hard over the whole last year and more to put this all together. Thank you to all of them. I can’t wait to see everyone tonight!

Great conference (as usual)! Caitlin, another attendee had an idea that may be worthy of consideration: during session Q&As, some members offer comments/suggestions instead of asking questions. While those comments are often useful, they take up time and limit the number of questions that can be asked. Instead of allowing comments during Q&A, ask that they be made using these Forums.

    Roxanne,
That is a great point, and a good suggestion as well! Especially considering our time constraints. I actually thought about that when I made my comment at the end of the last session. I was aware people can’t always hear in the back so I wanted to make sure there were no other questions before I went up to the microphone. I love the idea of using these forums more and appreciate the explanation that these take the place of the listserv of previous years!

    Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed response, I was on vacation after the conference. Roxanne, that would be a suggestion for Clare Dube, our conference chair. I can certainly pass that on to her. I will say, however, that I was in sessions where the speakers asked for Q & A during the presentation and if there were comments to leave them for the end if there was time, and people still made comments during the presentation. So, we can make the request, but realize that likely people will still make comments. They get excited if they feel they can contribute something to the conversation, but I agree that might be best left for after all questions have been asked or for the forums. I will share your suggestion. Thanks!!
