I have a client who would like to send money on a monthly basis to someone who lives in Africa. The recipient has an eTrade checking account (for which I have the acct number and routing number) and an email address. Their cell phone number is an African number.
My client has a Wells Fargo checking account which has indicated money can be sent through a system Zelle. The recipient received the email invitation to accept the money but needs to install Zelle to receive it and his phone does not support the app. (I don’t think he has a computer.)
I tried to find an address for eTrade but only found ones for credit cards or securities, not checking accounts.
I asked recipient about setting up a Venmo account, but again he said he can’t download the app.
Any ideas on how to send money to this persons checking account? (The recipient lives in a very remote area and does not have a physical address.)

Take a look at TransferWise and see if that could be used. I believe it is bank to bank transfers so not sure about an etrade account.

    Transferwise

Sorry in looking at the link I just pasted I think the link is loading the New Zealand based version of the site (i’m In New Zealand right now on my iphone) but just go to transferwise.com and you can see if it something that could work for youfr client

    Hope that helps.

Take a look at Bill.com. You set up an account for your client, then send an invitation to the recipient. The recipient accepts the invitation and inputs their bank account information.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you, Alexandra and Rebecca.
