Trademark

A discussion in another forum prompts me to ask: have you trademarked your logo, or anything else regarding your business? If yes, did you use an online company to register your trademark? I’d appreciate hearing about any experiences (good or bad).

I am working with an intellectual property attorney to trademark the name of my company. We have been working on it for over a year (in part due to the fact that the name, Everyday Money Management, uses regular words that others use as well. Note to new DMMs: Consult an attorney before you name your company if you think you may want to trademark it). I don’t think I could do this without the attorney as the mark was initially rejected and she filed an appeal. I am still hopeful that the trademark will be approved. Ask me next year!

We have pretty much trademarked everything on our website, name. logo and tag line. Like Leah we worked with an attorney as well.
