I am looking for recommendations for a cost effective screen sharing program to work with remote clients.

Thanks in advance for any insights you may have,

Lots of options. You can do screen sharing with Google Hangouts, with Chrome Remote Desktop with a free account from Zoom https://zoom.us/, Join.me https://www.join.me and with Teamviewer https://www.teamviewer.us/.

Since you are using it for your business, Teamviewer will require a monthly subscription at $49/month. In that case, Zoom.us or Join.me would be a cheaper alternative and I would probably go with Zoom.us. Hangouts and Chrome Remote Desktop are free.

I use Chrome Remote Desktop with all my clients. A bit tricky to download and get started the first time (better if you are in there in person to walk them through it), but once it’s loaded, it’s very easy to use. Here’s a good tutorial on getting it set up. https://www.computerworld.com/article/3230909/enterprise-applications/chrome-remote-desktop-how-to-connect-two-devices-remotely.html

    Hi Rich,

I do a lot of consulting for people who are primarily Apple users. For those clients I use the built in Messages application which has screenshare built in.

For other clients I have been using Joinme.

I use TeamViewer because I like to be able to operate my client’s computer remotely. I also am able to access their computer remotely without them present, which is a function that I use a lot.

It is expensive, but has been well worth it for me.
