I initially purchased this device when I upgraded to Windows 10 several years ago. At the advise of my IT support, I downgraded by windows until recently. When we upgraded me, my scanner started having issues w connectivity. After a reboot, all works fine until I put my laptop to sleep. After wake up, I cannot get laptop scanning software to see the scanner whether via wifi or physical wire connection. But as soon as I reboot, I am good until it sleeps again!
Fugitsu is stumped. The solution is to reinstall my laptop from scratch…which is not an option/
Anyone else having issues or ideas???

The error I get is that the scanner is being used by another application. The troubleshooting suggestion is to turn it off and move the cord to a different USB port. It hasn’t helped. I have re-installed many times; sometimes it fixes it, sometimes I do it twice in a row and then it works, but you can’t do that after every time you close the computer. Once I got it to work by installing updates and I didn’t have to re-install.

However since most of my use is for email, I can use my phone app to scan and then email the doc as needed. Takes laptop out of it and works well. Just a work around but worth a try for you!
Anyone else?

If you did an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 rather than a fresh install of Windows 10, then things can get a little wonky (technical term) sometimes. Two suggestions:
1. Uninstall the scanner software on the PC, reboot computer and then reinstall the scanner software and drivers. You may also need to uninstall the scanner driver as well so that the install software reinstalls this.
2. If this is connected via USB, then uninstall and re-install the driver for controlling the USB ports.Since it sounds like you upgraded recently, if all else fails then you may want to back up all of your data and applications (a program called Belarc Advisor can be useful to generate an inventory of all applications that might need to be reinstalled) and then do a fresh install of Windows 10. Yes, it’s a pain but sometimes it is less of a pain at the beginning rather than after you’ve been using 10 for a while. As IT folks say, “your mileage may vary” (each situation may be different and not apply)
October 30, 2019 at 3:51 pm #13148Rita KuehnisSpectatorThanks Thomas – your suggestions are all valid and have been tried. I think I will make the phone app solution work until Scan snap agrees to recognize this issue and find a solution. My time without a computer while it is rebuilt…is not feasible right now!
