I am looking for information on how to sell a time share property in Connecticut that is no longer used or wanted by the elderly owner. I remember there was some discussion on the old Listserv about this but did not save the information. What are the issues to be aware of – pros and cons? I also remember that there were agencies who handles timeshare sales, but don’t know which are reliable and which to avoid. Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
Reselling a timeshare can be difficult. Some companies have resale departments (e.g., Marriott), but not all do. Know ahead of time that you don’t make money selling back this kind of property, but the goal is to unload it and be rid of the burden of HOA fees, property taxes and other for a property a client isn’t using.

I started that conversation on the List-Serve in 2015 and eventually found a wonderful realtor who specializes in timeshare resales and I highly recommend them. They made it easy and painless and they are legit. Call Tri-West Real Estate at 800-423-6377. I worked with Betty Z. (Can’t remember her last name.) The email is: triwest@att.net. (You can mention my name if you wish but I imagine they will give you great service with or without my name!) Good luck!
