I am in the market for a new business computer and am trying to decide between Mac or PC.
Traditionally the MAC versions had lacked the features found in the PC version.
I was wondering if there are any DMMs who use the 2019 Mac version of Quicken and are happy with the desktop, online, and mobile versions and felt the Mac version had perhaps caught up to the 2019 PC version.March 21, 2019 at 8:17 pm #12919AnonymousInactiveI use Quicken for both PC and MAC. The MAC version is not as robust or complete as PC. At our national conference, the Quicken professionals present admitted as much. They are working to bring up the level of the MAC version, but it is not there yet and could take a long time to get there. If you are starting fresh, I would go with PC to have the best options of Quicken available.

I actually like the current desktop Mac version better. For me, it is more responsive, pliable and intuitive. I experience the PC version as clunkier, not as user friendly. I do not use investment tracker features, however, so I can’t speak to whether that function is better with PC or Mac. I find the Mac online and cloud services not very good.

The Mac version is young. It is being built as people are using it instead of having upgrades to expand an existing platform like the PC version is which can make the Mac appear to work faster however it can’t do all the functions nor all the reports that the PC version can do.
If you use the cloud service to save your files, you will need a separate Quicken ID (account) for each client. If you save the files to your PC or Mac then you can have as many client files as you want. Either way is OK per Quicken at this time. If your computer is then automatically backed up either in real time or daily to say Carbonite or some other cloud based back up system, you will have the redundancy desired for making sure your files aren’t lost.March 22, 2019 at 2:13 pm #12922AnonymousInactiveHi Cindy,
Thanks for the input…is this what you were talking about in regards to needing a separate Quicken ID or not needing a new Quicken ID? From the thread I pasted below, it sounded like no matter the device, you only needed 1 quicken account to use for all clients. Am I misunderstanding?
