I work on a client’s subscription to Quicken 2017 Home & Business on PC that has another year prior to expiration.

Of course, every time I open the program, it offers the upgrade to 2019.

I’d like to hear from anyone with direct experience having switched from 2017 to 2019.
If you have found it significantly better, I will bypass the remaining year on the current program and make the jump. Please share your pluses and minuses.

    Thank you for your input.

You can uncheck the box at the bottom of that pop up and it won’t show up again.
The 2017 will lose it’s ability to download eventually which forces the upgrade to the subscription service. I did the upgrade from 2017 to 2019 due to the discounts given at the conference and the fact that this is the way Quicken is going. Previously it was you either subscribe yearly (or every other year if you pay 2 years at a time) or the download ability will not function. This new way is you either pay the annual subscription or you don’t have Quicken that will download. You probably could continue to use 2017 “off line” manually entering everything but what’s the point in that?
There is not much difference that I can see other than it is a smidgen faster. I have had to call support and it was a great experience so that has improved a lot.
Historically I only bought the new Quicken every 2 years when the product would stop downloading due to it being 2 years behind. There never was a huge difference, just in speed.
When I upgraded this past year, they added the time onto my renewal. Call Quicken and talk with them. You shouldn’t lose a year. They should add on to the subscription period you already paid for.
    Hope this helps.
