Quicken 2016 Mac – data files issue

I would like to consult with a colleague on a situation I encountered with a client who is working in data files rather than accounts within the Quicken Mac 2016 application.

I’d like to review my proposed remedy – exporting/importing the files – or find out if another approach is better.
