At conference, I told a group that I had a problem with Outlook a few months ago. I lost several folders and was unable to retrieve them. I use Outlook 365 through GoDaddy.
After this happened, GoDaddy told me they offer an additional Outlook backup service for a few dollars a month. When I switched to Outlook 365, I was not offered that service. They were unable to find my lost files and I added the back up service. Luckily I lost only a few client files and I was able to locate most of the info with the help of my clients and trash/sent email folders.
Yesterday I discovered that this back up problem does NOT happen if you have Outlook on your computer and are NOT using GoDaddy. I’ve been told by some colleagues that they can back up Outlook on an external drive, Carbonite, etc.
Sorry for the misinformation, folks! So much to remember and learn! – Lynn
