    Good afternoon,

I have a high net worth client who is overwhelmed with 3 kids and a very busy lifestyle. She would like to hire an executive assistant to help her at home. She wants help with household management, project management (kitchen renovation and other renovations).
I would like to know how you would find someone who can work with a client 2-3 days per week with a client as a household manager.

    Thank you for your assistance!

Faith, have you googled “hire estate or household manager”? I just did, and skimmed a few of more than 25M ‘hits’ — some very interesting reading! Here’s just one to get you (her) started: https://www.women.com/rebekkahowell/lists/how-to-hire-a-household-manager.

I’m eager to hear from colleagues who have experience in this arena — I think I want one now. 🙂

There was a recent article on this topic in the WSJ that we were discussing with our marketing company, if you have a subscription. https://www.wsj.com/articles/help-wanted-when-managing-your-home-requires-a-full-time-hire-11566466203

It depends on how high net worth and what they are looking for. There are agencies that will offer a placement service for a fee.

I don’t have any info on this but am very interested in other’s ideas, solutions and the outcome. Faith, please keep us posted with your outcome. Thanks for posting such an intriguing (different) kind of question than most of us get!

In my local network is a transition manager company that handles everything associated with getting someone to move from one place to another (think of elders moving from house to assisted living and all the pieces that have to be done). She considers herself a project manager because she manages soup-to-nuts on the transition. So, if you know any transition folks, they might be interested in project type work like this. Just another idea in the mix.

Check around for a personal assistant and/or organizer associations. Just as our roles often overlap with clients, I would imagine theirs do as well. You may be able to find a personal assistant who has experience with clients who have gone through this. Depending on where the client is, there are agencies who vet and oversee personal assistants.

Faith- It would be great to know where you (and your client) are located. I can’t seem to easily access this from your profile (a shortcoming of the Forum system?). I know this wasn’t your exact request but it occurs to me that perhaps a fellow DMM (or one of their colleagues) would be a good fit for this role. But, of course, we’d have to know WHERE.

Thank you to all who reached out regarding my question. I will be meeting on Monday with her and will help her to clarify what she needs and wants. She is located outside of New Haven, CT. I now have some good preliminary resources to share with her.

    Faith
