Hello DMM colleagues….we need your help!
As a Board member and Public Awareness chair for AADMM it’s exciting to see that we are receiving more requests for information from journalists, authors, researchers etc. who regard AADMM as the “go to” for answers on financial topics relevant to their publication.
We need your help in order to respond to this particular request from a writer with Kiplinger for information that will be used in a story that will run in January 2020 about elder fraud abuse (see below).
Rachel, AADMM’s social media staff is asking if any DMMs currently have a client/family member willing to speak with this writer. I do have clients who have experienced elder fraud but they are not interested nor willing to speak about this publicly, and several have dementia so not able to do so. The writer would like to speak with someone as soon as possible, preferably by the end of next week 10/25/19.
If you have someone who might be interested in being interviewed about their experience with elder fraud, please contact Rachel rachel@atlasmgmtres.com.
Thanks!

barbara@marysdaughterllc.com“I’m a writer at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, and I’m writing a story about elder fraud for our January issue. I’m looking for an older adult who has experienced fraud and is willing to speak about their experience and how they got through it; ideally, I’d also like to speak with a loved one who helped them deal with it.”

Thanks for posting this message. I have a client who falls into this awful category. I am sending the daughter to see if she would be interested in contacting the writer. It’s a MESS!Hope to see you soon at the conference!

The more we raise awareness about this, maybe we can prevent others from falling victim. DMMs can be the answer in a proactive way when elders are needing assistance with financial matters.
Looking forward to the conference and seeing you there!!
