I have a client who is looking to change jobs, the payroll would be quite different and I want a dependable payroll calculator so that we might make some determinations as to whether to make the change, budget and affordability. We are going off the annual salary and need to get tax detail on a monthly basis. I have looked online at the multiple options but I am getting differing numbers.

Thank you for any input you might have.

    Sincerely

You might try asking an accountant in your network of folks you know/refer to give you rough percentages to use to estimate. As the rule-of-thumb, it used to be that withholding represented around 40% of gross so the estimate of take-home was about 60% (depending upon optional pre-tax withholding such as 401k/403b amounts, extra insurance premiums, etc.)
