I know a couple years ago, there was a discussion about software which would “read” transactions on a statement and convert it to date – which could then be imported or manipulated with other programs. Has anyone found something they like? Any limitations? etc.

    Hi Amy,

I am not sure of the discussion thread you are referencing but if you are asking about a process where you take bank transactions and convert to data that can then be imported into something like Quickbooks – you might want to look at Bank to QBO from Propersoft

Is allows for downloading statements directly from the bank and then converting to a QBO file to then import into Quickbooks. If you look at the website you will see it has solutions for other file-types conversions as well.

I did try to use a PDF (bank statement that is a PDF file) but was unsuccessful in getting that to work. So I just use Bank to QBO (and go directly to the bank account and download transactions that way which then allows for import into Quickbooks).

Again, not sure if this is what you were asking but that is one solutions for data conversion.

    Sincerely,

    Alix
